Had a number of 'Cruisers over the years, with fond memories of a couple of HDJ100's some years back.

This is my first 90 Colorado purchase (a few months ago) and at first thought i'd bought a 'lemon' despite its very good (apparent!) overall condition.
It needed a complete 'proper' service being as the stamps in the service book seemed to count for nothing!! New pump/cam Belt/tensioner, Auxillery belt, air/oil/fuel filters. Motul Auto transmission fluid change inc' new tran's temp sender unit, Transfer box oil change, Both Diff' oils changed, Propshafts all had new UJ's, New Discs and calipers all round!! New Radiator/thermostat, New Steel '0' offset wheels and some used Dunlop Grandtrek tyres. Tracking done.

Sourced locally a rare Prado Bullbar and made up some strong brackets to fit. Had windows to rear of vehicle tinted with quality film (5% sides, 20% rear window) Installed a Pioneer AVH270BT double din touchscreen Bluetooth/MP3/iPod/CD head unit Inc' a reversing camera. Had custom made (fitted) plush carpets throughout.

Did all this work (and more!) within a month as i needed it sorted before a holiday to France in it a few weeks back....Needless to say, was a little disappointed at first with some of the neglect/misleading maintenance (despite what previous owner said!) But nearly £2K later I have it performing/looking just about as i want it :icon-biggrin:

Going to have the central part of bonnet wrapped in a matt (possibly gloss) Black...Opinions??

More pics to come.........

Looks like a nice example. Shame about all the work needed doing underneath, but at least you can be confident it has all been done properly now

Nice motor and like Andy said at least it's all done now, have you got any other plans?oh and welcome to a very helpful forum.

..A few more pics...

Decided to get rid of the appalling (in the wet) Dunlop GrandTrek tyres !!!

Got some winter tyres, Hankook i-Cept Evo's, These are fantastic tyres, I had them on a Subaru Forester STi a few yrs back and they had great Wet/cold/icy weather grip and were an excellent sure footed allround tyre in the warmer weather as well. Was surprised they did the same model in the 265x70x16 size!...couldn't resist at £347 for the set (Bargain) Needless to say they have transformed the handling/Grip of the 'Cruiser :icon-biggrin:

Thought i would add some billet 35mm spacers while changing the tyres, the tyres stick out a bit, was thinking of fitting some under-arch spats but after driving in a few days of rain they don't seem to be spraying to much s#*t along the side of car so may leave that job!.....

Nice looking motor, just wondering where you got your wheel spaces and how much if you don't mind me asking.

Thanks, The Wheel spacers (and the black modulars) Were purchased from JCS 4x4 wheels and tyres in Notts NG9 7JB

Quality billet steel items £115 for the set

The Guy Charles (the owner and Ex' Off-Roader) is big into 4x4 wheels/tyres and much more, extremely good value items and service...check him out on ebay (username lr90gmc)

Thanks for reply, been thinking about these as wanting that wider look but still wanting to keep the Toyota alloys,il be having a look at theses.thanks again

Be careful with the offset though Sag, I have gone for a Zero offset with the steel modular wheels 16" x 8" rim (to push them out a little) But decided on a further 35mm billet hubcentric spacer would achieve the look i wanted, really pleased with it but i found on full lock the new tyres (standard 265x70) are rubbing on the inner wheel arch and mud flap, I have had to cut away a fair portion of the plastic arch and cut away some of the Mudflap!....I did also find that once i had cut away some of the inner plastic arch that it exposed some of the steel bodywork that had a protruding welded seam that is only about 1-2mm away from the tread of the tyre on full lock...phew! that was close!

You need to trim that seam fildigger most of us with bigger tyres have , having done the mudguards and plastic thing it took me a while to work out it was still rubbing the seam especially when braking and turning facing downhill (giving way and making room for cars coming up) . Luckily for me the seam got shiney before the tyre got damaged iirc there is another seam higher up and horizontal i think i took a bit of that away as well or maybe i just smacked it with a hammer a few times .

Well that looks like I'm not having spaces on then as I've got 265/75/16 a/t3 tyres on and normal suspension, thanks for replying though much appreciated for the advice,

Sag i can't remember what the factory alloys are offset is but something like +18 and its 16x7 (i think) so your about 3 inches short of what fildigger has done . Seems likely to me an inch wide spacer would cause you no problems at all and would not call for trimming anything .

Factory alloys are +15

Thanks for that,I think I might just have to find somewhere close what sell theses and try them if possible, don't really want to be cutting for them to work.

Thanks Shayne, I have taken your advice, didn't feel happy with such a small clearance against my brand new Winter tyres on full lock and gone and ground several mill' off that seam!
